Abstract: Twin pregnancy is high-risk pregnancy. Studies found that the incidence of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia in twin pregnancies is higher than that in singleton pregnancies. With assisted reproductive technology the number and rate of twin births continues to increase in recent years. The pre-eclampsia and eclampsia of twin pregnancies have a serious impact on global worldwide maternal and fetal pregnancy outcomes. There are many studies on the disease risk factors at home and abroad. The results showed that:Elder, prim parity, race, chorionic, fertilized egg type, in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET), high pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) were the risk factors of twin pregnancies with pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. The incidence of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia will increase if twin pregnant have these risk factors. Effective measures should be taken to improve the adverse outcomes and reduce the incidences of twin pregnancy pre-eclampsia and eclampsia. This review focused on summarizing the risk factors of pre-eclampsia and eclampsia of twin pregnancies, in order to provide important references for twin pregnancies during perinatal period in the future.
