Oxidative Stress and Female Reproductive Health

Abstract: Oxidative stress refers to the oxidant/antioxidant imbalance in the state in the body,plays an important role in the development of atherosclerosis,diabetes,cancer,neurodegenerative,aging and other diseases. Oxidative stress can damage the female reproductive capacity,and is related to endometriosis,polycystic ovary syndrome,unexplained infertility and other reproductive-related diseases. Oxidative stress indicators such as reactive oxygen species and its associated malonaldehyde,advanced oxidation protein products,superoxide dismutase antioxidant,glutathione and total antioxidant capacity are studied more. This review summarized the potential value of oxidative stress markers in female reproduction.
