The Mechanism and Prevention of Adhesion After Gynecologic Surgery in Progress

Abstract: The formation of adhesions after gynecologic surgery is an important complication, which may result in postoperative small bowel obstruction, infertility, chronic pelvic pain and other issues, but also increase the difficulty of reoperation. The prevention and control of complication, the increase of economic cost and the risk of readmission brought great concern. A variety of adhesion control methods, such as the improvements in surgical procedures, the application of biophysical barriers and the drug intervention, have a great development. This article is to summarize the progress of mechanism and prevention of adhesion.
