Abstract: Sentinel lymph node(SLN) dissection has been shown to be important for staging of malignant tumor and safe for selection of alternative surgical approachs. SLN has also been shown to be associated with decreased short-term and long-term morbidity when compared with complete lymph node dissection. There has been increasing interest in the usage of SLN technology in gynecologic cancers. This review assesses the current evidence-based literature for the usage of SLN dissection in gynecologic malignancies.
