Quality of Life for Patients with Ovarian Cancer

Abstract: Despite advances in diagnostic techniques and therapy,ovarian cancer is the most malignant cancer in women, and the first leading cause of cancer related death of the gynecologic malignancy. In each phase of the illness (surgery and chemotherapy,follow-up,relapse and sequential therapy,bowel obstruction and end of life),quality of life (QOL) is one of the most important considerations. In the recent years,the assessments of the quality of life in patients with ovarian cancer have increased. Different agents for the chemotherapy,intraperitoneal therapy,the timing for the chemotherapy,different therapy,and the therapeutic effect are all the influencing factors for the quality of life in the patients with ovarian cancer. The other factors such as psychological and emotional problems,family and social assistance,sexual issues and menopausal syndrome will also affect quality of life.
