Abstract: MicroRNA (miRNA) are endogenous single-stranded noncoding RNA, which generating the role of transcriptional silencing by complementary binding to the target genes. In recent years, a large number of studies have shown that the occurrence of wide variety of tumor associated with abnormal expression of miR-124, which plays an important role in inhibiting of cell proliferation, promoting apoptosis and inhibiting the invasion and metastasis of tumor. Researches have revealed that miR-124 is remarkably down-regulated in many tumor cells and ontic tissues, and is closely related to the occurrence and development of tumor. In recent years, the study of the role of miR-124 in gynecological malignant tumor is increasing, but its mechanism still need further research. This article elaborates biological function of miR-124 and improvements of studies in gynecological malignant tumors.
