Analysis of Perception,Attitude and Utilization of Oral Contraceptives among Population with History of Breast Cancer and Ovarian Cancer

Abstract: Objective:To investigate the perception,attitude,and utilization of oral contraceptives(OC) among population with history of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Methods:All of 92 females who had history of breast cancer and ovarian cancer among first level relatives were surveyed on perception,attitude,behavior,and information need. Results:There were 65.2% of participants used OC,and 40.6% of them reported that history of cancer was a major reason for not using OC. Most of participants wanted to know more information about OC and preferred to get information through health education handbook. Conclusions:Among females with history of breast cancer and ovarian cancer,it was helpful to choose ideal contraceptive methods when they had a good perception on OC.
