Abstract: Under the background of “no scarring”, single-port laparoscopic techniques emerged. With the rapid development of the techniques in surgical areas, the application of single-port laparoscopic techniques in gynecologic area also increased gradually in recent years. In order to overcome the problems of “chopsticks effect”,“operation triangle”, multiport trocar, flexional minimally invasive devices and articulating mechanism were invented, even robotic-assisted laparoendoscopic single-site surgery and new three-dimensional head-mounted display system appeared one after another. The application of single port laparoscopy in gynecologic area ranged from single-port access laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy to completely single port multi-visceral resection, from benign lesion surgery to malignant lesion surgery. In this paper, the application and progress of single-port laparoscopic techniques in gynecological surgery are reviewed.
