Abstract: Endometriosis (EMs) is the presence of endometrial glandular and stromal cells outside of the uterine cavity, and is the most common disorder in reproductive women. Quality of life for these women is predictable to be negatively affected. For the poor understanding about the pathophysiology of endometriosis,no current medical therapy has been demonstrated to be effective in eradicating the disease or in preventing it without unacceptable side effects. Concerning about the uncertainties about the pathophysiology of endometriosis, the establishment of an appropriate human EMs model plays a pivotal role in the study of endometriosis. This review tends to sum up the establishment and development of the endometriosis three-dimensional models(3D models) and assesses the methods and materials, different potential and limitation regarding to endometriosis researches, with the aim of developing novel simulating models for the further study.
