Abstract: The placenta is the vital organ to ensure the growth and development of the fetus during pregnancy.Perinatal complications, like pre-eclampsia (PE), intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM), may lead to abnormal placental function. Some adverse pregnancy outcomes such as fetal growth restriction(FGR),fetal Intrauterine hypoxia, fetal distress have been proved to be related to placental dysfunction. This review will introduce the basic principles of 3D Power Doppler Ultrasound(3D-PDU),relevant research of its index, its values of predicting adverse pregnancy outcomes and detecting abnormal placenta, and its prospects.
