Abstract: Borderline ovarian tumors (BOT) are characterized by histopathologic features and biologic behaviors intermediate between clearly benign and frankly malignant ovarian tumors. They typically present at younger women,one-third of whom have not completed childbearing. Thus, increasing studies have focused on the potential of fertility-preserving surgery in BOT. The majority of BOT diagnosed at stageⅠhave an excellent overall prognosis. Moreover, the increased usage of laparoscopic management may provide another choice in surgery procedure for patients with BOT. This review discussed the clinical and fertility outcome of patients with conservative surgery and the application of laparoscopy technology in BOT.
