Abstract: With the progress of assisted reproductive technology and the increase of women′s reproductive age,the incidence of multiple pregnancy is also increased. Multiple pregnancy increased the morbidity and mortality of maternal-fetal complications. Therefore, prediction of mater-fetal complications and the standardized management of multiple pregnancy in the early term helps to reduce the maternal-fetal risks including abortion, anemia, preeclampsia and gestational diabetes mellitus. According to recent studies, the management of multiple pregnancy in the early term should pay attention to chorionic judgment, screening of fetal complications(screening for aneuploidies and ultrasound scanning), prediction of mater complications and standardized monitoring during early pregnancy, thereby reducing the mater-fetal complications and improve mother and child outcome.
