Abstract: Gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM) is a common perinatal complication, belongs to high-risk pregnancy, which is harmful to mother and fetus. The pathogenesis of GDM is associated with insulin resistance(IR) and dysfunction of beta cells. Good glycemic control should be highly addressed to reduce the metabolic abnormalities and perinatal complication. A rapid-acting human insulin analogue is also safe and effective compared with regular human insulin. Oral antidiabetic drug has became the lastest research hotspot. This review will examine the development of therapy of GDM.
