Abstract: Borderline ovarian tumor(ovarian tumor of low malignant potential) is characterized by histopathologic features and biologic behaviour intermediate between clearly benign and frankly malignant ovarian tumors. Most patients are younger. Most diseases are early staged with better prognosis, but in the advanced and implanted cases the prognosis is relatively worse. The main pathological types are serous and mucinous borderline ovarian tumor. Generally, comprehensive staging surgery should be performed for the patients. For the young patients the fertility-sparing surgery could be a treatment modality. Post-operational adjuvant therapy is not needed in the cases of early stage and low risk, but adjuvant therapy could be chose in advanced and invasive implanted cases. Long term follow-up should be done because of the late relapses of this kind of diseases.
