Gastrointestinal Injury During Gynecologic Surgery

Abstract: Within the past decade, many advances have been made in the field of gynecologic surgery field. Surgery arrage and difficulty was increased. Meanwhile, vaginal operation was developped widespreadly. Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy have provided same result as open-surgery Gastrointestinal injury is a rare but serious complication of gynecologic operation. A series of factors including previous surgeries, endometriosis, tumor, inflamation and misoperation may rise the incidence of this complication. This review examines the type of gastrointestinal injury, the keyponits of diagnosis and management and preventive measures according to location and operative techniques during gynecologic operation.
